The Weekend Workshop is an independent content project focused on one question: how does a beginner with limited time and space start building real woodworking projects they're proud of?

A lot of people want to build things with wood but stall before they start. The advice online is either aimed at people with a full shop, or it's a pile of scattered videos that never add up to a first finished project. This site collects clear, practical guidance for the weekend builder: what to make first, what tools actually matter, and where to find plans worth following.

How we work

• Practical over hype. Every guide should help you build or plan something, whether or not you buy anything.
• Honest about trade-offs. No tool or plan set is perfect. We say where things help and where they fall short.
• Transparent about links. Some links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. We disclose that plainly (see our affiliate disclosure).
• Beginner-first. We assume you're starting out, working in a small space, and watching your budget.

A note on where we are

This is a growing resource. We'd rather publish a small number of genuinely useful, carefully written guides than flood the internet with thin content. If there's a project or question you'd like covered, we're glad to hear it.
